My Mission: I will cycle 2500 km through the hot summer of Portugal, Spain and France untill i reach Luxembourg. I cycle to raise 10.000€ for the Peace Research Center Tamera, situated in the Alentejo in southern Portugal. That´s 4€ per kilometer - please donate now !
Starting the 1.7. in Lisbon i will bike till i reach Luxembourg on
the 15.8. This is a sponsoring event with which i ask
everyone to support 2 projects in
Tamera, 2
projects which raise a lot of hope in me, because they point out
beautiful and realistic ways out of the current crisis situations in
the world:
1. I will raise funds for building a permakultur
water-landscape
inspired by Sepp Holzer, an agriculture based on cooperation, a model
project which feeds and heals mankind and nature alike! Working against
the global trend of rapid desertification, monocultures, the massive
use of poison in
agriculture and the resulting loss of species we are developing an
"eatable landscape" in southern Portugal, where all beings benefit-
humans, animals, plants ... We store the winter rain in retention ponds
and lakes so that the ground water storage fills up again, which allows
creeks and springs to flow again. This allows
a lush vegetation to grow and offers thousands of different species a
place to live. They all, including us humans, find themselves
provided with delicious food. This project will serve as an example not
only for the Iberian Peninsula, which is turning into a desert right
now, but far beyond in all areas threatened by the same fate. With Sepp
Holzers we develope an international education center for permaculture
to spread this vital knowledge around the globe. more
2. The
second half of the money i will raise is dedicated
to research
and education in the peace university "Monte Cerro" - for a
future without war! Facing all those war- and crisis areas around
the world, the misery and hunger on the one hand, the greed and dumb
boredom on the other we are intensely occupied with questions
like: How can we human beings overcome fear and seperation, how can we
lead a life in trust, mutual support and love? There will not be peace
on earth as long as there is love in war! But how can we build trust
between people, trust between the genders ? How do we have to
structure our society to make peace possible ? more
